Auntie and Uncle Zak's House

This trip was a total success. We headed off to Bellingham fresh from finding out we were having another baby girl. If you don't know already, my due date is July 8th and we couldn't be more thrilled. Sisters Schoolcraft! Look out world!

First order of business, making nice with the kitties. She got so excited every time she saw one of them. I can't say the same for the cats but they sure were great with her.

After her nap we headed to the Bellingham Children's Museum. Outings like this are some of my absolute faves. I love watching her explore and discover. Casey usually misses out on this stuff because we go during the week so it was really nice to have him along.

The felt garden was a big hit. I had to police her trying to eat them though. Yuk.

Auntie showed her how...

And she took right to it!

This sand box was her favorite. There was glitter mixed in! What's not to love!?

I love this picture. Tiny body.

A family picture! Hooray!!

After the museum we met Uncle Zak for pizza. Marigold loved the idea of pizza and hated waiting for it. She just kept looking around from her seat saying, "pizza!". Like, bring it already!

After she had a lovely slumber that allowed some much needed hang time with Zak and Jodie, we went to breakfast and then came home to digest. By digest I mean eat a donut. Marigold had a donut hole. She took one bite and said, "Auntie, Uncle Yak, me hada cake!" She knows what's good.
Instant crazy. Jodie has the video but it was mostly her running in circles around this pilates ball yelling, "Big ball, big ball". It happened for a really long time.

She said good-bye to the cats, Auntie and Uncle Zak and smooched the cutie in the mirror bye-bye. I think this is a trip we will most definitely repeat.

Come on Spring!

How cute is this dress?!! Thanks Eva:) We are so ready for Spring to arrive so we can break out the adorable dresses with out covering them up with coats. I say this knowing it actually snowed today. Sigh.

Blustery Park

If you live in the NW you know that you brave parks even when it's cold and windy. You work with what you've got right? And kids need to be outside. We headed to a nearby park and waterfront we hadn't been to before and here's a photo tour...

Whoa! It's a bit windy!

Surveying the new grounds.

Deciding she loves it and that her Dad is hilarious when he climbs on things.

Discovering each "Big Ball".

My attempt at a family picture. Marigold would rather be walking to the beach.

Testing her favorite boots in the waves.

Outside is awesome.

Rehearsing

My bandmates, Mike and Anna-Lisa, are so accommodating when it comes to my Mama schedule. We often rehearse at my house at nap time or when she's awake. Marigold has come to really look forward to this and I get such a kick out of watching her try to participate.

She usually sticks close to me the first few minutes, being a ham.

Anna-Lisa dressed her up in her shawl and you could tell she felt so fancy.

Dancing in her new get up.

I wish this was clearer. It really shows how tickled she is by the whole musical experience. I hope I can always provide that live musical stimulation for her. I remember it so clearly from my childhood and I want the same for her.

Cookies and Cakes!

Something we do a variation of every day.

Put the cookies or cakes in the oven and push the buttons while making an appropriate "boop, boop" sound.

Watch with anticipation.
I think they're ready!

Quick taste fresh out of the oven.

Build a cake tower.

Have a little rest. Baking is exhausting.

Back up! Time to count them.

Taste again and feel oh so proud.

You know what's fun?

Well, I'll tell you. Going on super fun play dates with great people to awesome places.
We recently went to the Children's Museum with a friend from junior high/high school and her darling son. It was so fun to reconnect with her in this new phase of our lives. Stupidly, I don't have a picture of him looking at the camera. These following shots will give you the feel of the fun though.

These two littles discovered each other and immediately started playing peek-a-boo. She and her mother didn't speak english but all four of us were giggling while the two Moms snapped pictures. It's a universally fun game.

It went on for awhile and no one got tired of it.

Fun at museums with friends is the best!!!

I love...

I love my kitchen and everything in and around it.

I love my easel and right now making spirals is my favorite.

I LOVE my boots and wearing them anytime they catch my eye, even if I'm wearing my jammies.

Dancin with Dada

Casey has been working on music a lot lately and Marigold likes to give her honest opinion.

"Yeah! I can dance to this."

"I would totally play this for my friends." She likes her Dada's musical stylings. We like her.

A rare look at all of our faces. Goof ball cuteness captured in the middle.
